Oaxaca Old-Fashioned Cocktail Recipe
A modern classic agave-based riff on the Old Fashioned created by Phil Ward in 2007 at Death & Co. It combines reposado tequila and mezcal with agave nectar and bitters, introducing many to mezcal in a familiar format.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Reposado Tequila
- 1/2 oz Mezcal
- 1 barspoon Agave Nectar
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Instructions
- Add the reposado tequila, mezcal, agave nectar, and Angostura bitters to an Old Fashioned glass over one large ice cube.
- Stir until well-chilled.
- Flame an orange peel over the drink to express the oils, then drop the peel into the glass as garnish.
