Treacle Cocktail Recipe
The Treacle is a rum Old Fashioned variation created by Dick Bradsell in 1990s London, designed to evoke the rich, molasses-like flavor of British treacle syrup through dark rum, sugar syrup, bitters, and a float of clear apple juice.

Ingredients
- 2 oz Dark Rum
- 0.5 oz Rich Sugar Syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
- 0.75 oz Clear Apple Juice
Instructions
- Chill an Old Fashioned glass.
- Add 30ml (1 oz) dark rum, 12.5ml (0.5 oz) rich sugar syrup (2:1), and 2 dashes Angostura bitters to the glass.
- Add a few ice cubes and stir.
- Add remaining 30ml (1 oz) dark rum and more ice cubes, then stir again until chilled.
- Fill the glass with ice if needed and stir once more.
- Float 20ml (0.75 oz) clear apple juice (not cloudy) on top.
- Express an orange or lemon twist over the drink and drop in to garnish.
