Bijou Cocktail Recipe
A pre-Prohibition cocktail attributed to Harry Johnson, named for the jewel-like colors of its ingredients (gin as diamond, sweet vermouth as ruby, green Chartreuse as emerald). It is a botanical, herbal, and bittersweet drink similar to a Negroni but with Chartreuse instead of Campari. Modern recipes adjust the original equal-parts formula for better balance by increasing the gin.
