New York Sour Cocktail Recipe
A classic variation on the Whiskey Sour that adds a float of dry red wine on top, creating a visually striking layered drink with added fruity and tannic notes from the wine.

Ingredients
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey or Bourbon
- 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 0.75 oz Simple Syrup
- optional Egg White
- 0.5 oz Dry Red Wine
Instructions
- Add the whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using) to a shaker.
- Shake hard with ice until well-chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
- Slowly pour the red wine over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top.
