Prince of Wales Cocktail Recipe
A pre-Prohibition whiskey cocktail named after Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), featuring rye, muddled pineapple, maraschino, bitters, and topped with Champagne. It's an improved whiskey cocktail with fruit and fizz.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 1 small cube Fresh Pineapple
- 1/4 oz Simple Syrup
- 1/4 tsp Maraschino Liqueur
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
- 1 oz Champagne
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, add the pineapple cube and muddle to release juice.
- Add rye whiskey, simple syrup, maraschino liqueur, Angostura bitters, and ice.
- Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass.
- Top with chilled Champagne or brut sparkling wine.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
